O.K. ...Let me rephrase that last remark. What a stupid question. Caliber Degree of worth; quality. What I mean is that someone of Mr. McDuffie's degree of worth would not need to be 'reluctant to reveal what's behind the scenes' anymore than he already has. How much more guarded can anyone be if there isn't any real information? It's not like he works for the CIA, or anything.
It looks like it's pretty clear to everybody else here that I was talking about Dwayne's future dealings with fans about future projects... he will, of course, be doing other projects, and will have to decide whether he wants to be as honest with fans about those as he was with this one. Not sure why you're the only one having trouble understanding that. And you've still failed to explain how Dwayne's quality or degree of worth would determine that. My advice is to work on your communication skills before calling anyone else's questions "stupid".

I'm either experienced or paranoid, but I think those DC bastards got what they wanted from our man Dwayne...use of the Milestone characters to prop up their moribund universe where few creators are willing to create new characters.
I usually shrug my shoulders and say, "Forget it, Jake. It's DC Comics."
But if there's anything that pisses me off more than the company screwing with me, it's their screwing with folks like the Siegel family and friends like Dwayne.
Damn them...again.

DD: As of right now, Len’s the writer of Justice League, and once his arc is done, we’ll be able to announce the new direction for the series.
http://www.newsarama.com/comics/050928- ... l#commentsI hope we fans bitchin' didn't get you off the book.
Nope, it was my own doing. I was fired when "Lying in the Gutters" ran a compilation of two years or so of my answers to fans' questions on the DC Comics discussion boards. I'm told my removal had nothing to with either the quality of my work or the level of sales, rather with my revelation of behind-the-scenes creative discussions. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed, because next summer was planned to feature a JLA-driven crossover, where my book's story line would have been the driving force. I'm distressed by where I left Black Canary, as my intention was to use the current subplot to strengthen her character and relationships with the new membership, and instead I'm leaving her at the bottom of a hole I'd intended to rebuild her from. I was also just about to get a regular artist for the first time since I've been on the book, which would have been nice. That said, I'm sure DC's going to put together a creative team that will generate major excitement around JLA, which is as it should be. As for me, I'm still busy story-editing both Ben 10: Alien Force (just nominated for 3 Emmys!) and the upcoming new Ben 10 series "Ben 10: Evolutions." As far as comic-related stuff, the all-new "Milestone Forever," is still on track for late this year/early next year, and the Milestone trade paperback program is in full swing, with Static Shock, Icon and Hardware volumes already on the way. I've also recently completed a console video game script that I can't talk about yet, but that will be of interest to anyone reading this thread. I'm currently writing a Direct-To-Video animated feature for Warner Animation, the second of two I've taken on this year. Again, I can't say what they are until they're officially announced, but they're likely of interest to superhero fans, and one of them I can't help looking at as what-could-have-been. You'll see what I mean.
I thought you were returning after a couple of Wein issues!!! I'm totally pissed off!!! I'm sure Len will lift up Black Canary. Since you were originally collaborating with him back when he was only supposed to do a couple of issues (as I understand), I'm sure he's aware of what needs to be done with her. I'm totally being a gossipy moron, but what's the big deal all about? Is there a link to such chat about the backstage deals??? To me, all of this was a risky movement on DC's part. I wouldn't cancel any deal with an author that holds the rights of at least half of the minority characters of my universe. Let's say Mr. McDuffie gains more than DC when they use his Milestone characters... still, if they stopped using them because of the JLA incident it'd become a scandal and worst: a scandal about characters that happen to be minorities created by minorities. To quote South Park: "wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd!" (can someone explain that phrase to me).

If anything he'll probably be doing more work on them now then if he had stayed on Justice League.
But lets be realistic, McDuffie will probably be back on an A-list title before the end of the year. Hell I expect he'll be committed to something before the end of the summer. The only question is rather or not Marvel or DC will get their hands on him first. Let's face it, he's good enough to get any title he wants if he acts quick when he learns of an open position. And he'll probably be approached with tons of titles he either doesn't want or doesn't know he wants.
And as far as DC goes their stuck with him now that milestone is integrated. He owns the characters and unless they want another universe changing retcon they are there to stay.

If McDee sees an offer to write another MARVEL title...! Go for a SHE-HULK title!

With the rumors swirling I had canceled my JLA subscription several weeks ago but I had hopes this wouldn't happen and the news would be a second JLA monthly. The roster as it is may not be so-called "A-list" but it the most enjoyable arc I've ever read in the series. After all the interruptions by way of Runs and Crisis' it was finally it's own book. This sux but I'm poor so the half-ful is it saves me money. I'd boycott DC but I wasn't buying anything of theirs anyway.

Tony, I really hope you're wrong about DC's motivations in all this. Not that I have any faith in them, I just hate the idea of Dwayne and Milestone getting played like that. Still, I've heard the stories (some of which you've told), and I wouldn't put it past them. I just really hope that isn't the case.

Greetings to all! First of all I would like to say that's a honor to me to be part of this rorum. That being said, I will deliberate and than ask a question regarding the future.
As we all know, DC brought back the milestone characters, and was reintroducing them. It's obvious the lack of good sens of DC's Boss (DAMN Didio) with killing, mistreating, underuse of various characters. Now that you, Mr Dwayne, is off the JLA ( VERY UNFORTUNATELY I MIGHT ADD) which will be the future of these characters? Will we see a "Black superman" on JLA? Static will shine again? Will we see new comics regarring our beloved Rocket, Gear, Static, Icon, etc? And the most important: Will you still being part of the DC?
Thanks for the opportunity
